It has happened to all of us at one time or another. You’ve written a brilliant Facebook post and then you catch a spelling or grammar error. It’s a social media crisis. What do you do next? You’ve already received several likes, do you sacrifice them in favor of a grammatically correct post or do you bit the bullet and continue to let it run?
Now, you don’t have to make the tough choice. Over the summer, Facebook started rolling out this new feature to users, which hasn’t gotten the love it deserves for its lifesaving quality in my opinion. The new Facebook feature allows users to edit their posts WITHOUT deleting them.
To make an edit, click on the pencil icon on the post. From there, a drop down menu will appear. You can choose to edit your post or just delete it all together. Status updates have a thirty-second window to make a correction. After that, other users will see that the post has been edited. Image posts, however do not have a time limit.
Have you use this new edit tool? Has it saved you from embarrassment? Do you love it? Let us know in the comments!
